Gus Donolo

About Gus 

Coach Donolo joined BSC in the fall of 2020 after exceptional career both on the pitch and on the sidelines. He started his career as a professional soccer player in Brazil at the age of 16, playing for some of the top teams in Sao Paulo and had appearances for the Brazilian Futsal National Team. He finished his professional playing career by a leading team in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After retiring as a professional athletic, he created Soccer the Brazilian Way Inc. to focus on training athletes worldwide utilizing techniques designed by the best Brazilian soccer academies. He also created KickThru Services LLC to focus on sales, training and other professional services developed for the leading business organizations dedicated to the soccer/football world.

Erica Klein

About Erica

Erica is a Bethesda Soccer Club alum and was a four-year starter for the varsity soccer team at The Bullis School, earning all-league honors her senior year. After Bullis, she spent time playing for Trinity College in Hartford, CT at the Division III level before deciding to focus on my studies. Erica is currently the head coach for the JV team at Walt Whitman High School for the past 4 seasons. Before Whitman, she was the assistant JV coach at Bullis for 2 seasons. In addition to coaching high school soccer, she has coached with Arrington Training and Development (ATD) since 2015, where she has worked with teams of all ages and skill levels. While working with ATD she was the head coach for two MSI teams and the assistant coach for two Maryland Rush teams. She currently holds her F, E, and D licenses through US Soccer and is an accredited interscholastic coach through NFHS.

Eric Cava

Bethesda SC Head Coach

About Eric:

Eric is currently the Head Coach of the Gaithersburg Varsity Boys High School soccer team where in 2019 he was named the MFHS Coach of the Year. In addition, his side were the 2018 MCPS 4A Western Division Champions, going 13-1-1.  In addition to his experience at Gaithersburg, Eric has previously coached the Church Hill Junior Varsity High School, Boys U15 Maryland ODP Head Coach, and Girls U13 Maryland ODP Head Coach. At the club level, he coached at Potomac Soccer from 2010-2021,

As a player, Eric played four years of college soccer at Clemson University where he played in 74 matches. He also participated in numerous Olympic Development Program camps in England, Italy, and Belgium. He played club soccer with FC Delco Crunch and was a member of the 2006 side that won the Pennsylvania State Cup. He currently holds a USSF National ‘C’ Coaches License.

Paul Dowell

Bethesda SC Head Coach

About Paul: Coach Dowell joined the BSC program in the spring of 2021, coaching in the boys YDP program. Before joining Bethesda, Paul served as the Girls Varsity Head Coach at Gaithersburg High School for eight years and as the Girls Junior Varsity Head Coach at Sherwood High School for four years. He has also coached at BSC Academy Coach Kert Mease’s Golden Goal Academy for the past 15 years. As a player, he was a four-year starter at Frostburg State University. Paul has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Frostburg and a Master’s Degree in Educational/Instructional Training at Johns Hopkins University.

Gabby Paolini

Gabby Paolini is a Montgomery County native, having graduated from Quince Orchard High School in 2012. She played goalkeeper at the Varsity level under Peg Keiller and then went on to play at the Division 3 collegiate level at Clark University in Worcester, MA. While playing at Clark, Paolini started every game and surpassed 400 total saves in her career. Paolini coached at Clark University during her graduate year, working primarily with the goalkeepers. Paolini works for a federal consulting firm in D.C. and resides in Gaithersburg.

Pierre Dyer

Bethesda SC Head Coach

About Pierre

Pierre joined the coaching staff in the 2021-2022 season. As a Bethesda Soccer Club player alum, Pierre went on to play DIII as a 4-year starter at Swarthmore College. There, he won two conference championships, an ECAC championship, and featured twice in the NCAA round of 16. He also played semi-professional soccer for NW London in England.

Pierre started his coaching career with two amateur teams in the Boston and London area, before moving back to DC and rejoining BSC as a coach.

Pierre obtained his coaching ‘C’ license. He has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the London Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Swarthmore College.
