Our Club

Club History

The Bethesda Soccer Club began as three teams competing as the Bethesda Boys Club in 1979. Today, 65 boys' and girls’ teams from ages U-7 through U-19 compete in various leagues across the Washington D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region and throughout the United States. The club is in Montgomery County, Maryland, just northwest of Washington, D.C.

Bethesda teams have a long history of success, including developing players at the professional and college levels. Our teams compete in MLS Next, ECNL, Elite Development Program (EDP), USYSA Region I League, National Capital Soccer League (NCSL), and the Super Y Summer League. We participate in the Maryland State Cup and are eight-time National Champions.

Player Success & Accomplishments

Bethesda players have had success with their teams and beyond. Players have earned National Team call-ups in their youth and senior national teams. Over 72 players have turned pro since 2000, and the Club has an extensive pathway to a college program that prepares players to compete at the next level.

Club alumni include former U.S. National Team player Bruce Murray; Washington Spirit midfielder Andi Sullivan; Major League Soccer and U.S. National Team player Jeremy Ebobisse; former Washington Spirit defender Joanna Lohman; and former Borussia Dortmund forward Joe Gyau.
