Daniel Zapata
Daniel has been in the football environment at all developmental and competition stages, from grassroots to professional reserve player in Medellin, Colombia.
He played in the State and National Colombian League as a left back and central midfielder, winning twice the state league with Talentos Envigado FC academy teams.
At the academic level, Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition sciences with an emphasis on high-performance sports with an ISAK level II anthropometrist license.
As work experience, he has worked as a sports dietitian for Indeportes Antioquia, a government entity in charge of managing high-performance athletes and Olympic prospects in the state of Antioquia, Colombia, and as an assistant coach for Margos FC academy for 15U and 23U boys’ teams, in which he reached the quarterfinals of the national Colombian league with the U-15 category.
Currently, Daniel works as the Adult Soccer League manager for Maryland SoccerPlex, managing over 690 teams per year. In addition, He has been a SAM coach since the summer of 2022 and has the USSF National C coaching license. He is looking for NSCA and USSF National B licenses next year.
