Matt Parsons

Head Coach, BU18 Green 02 (2019-2020 season); BU13 Academy 08 and BU19 Academy 02 (2020-2021 season)

About Matt: Coach Parsons is entering his second year with Bethesda SC after an extensive coaching career in High School and club soccer. He is currently the Varsity Head Coach of the Sherwood High School Boys Soccer Team, a position that he has held for the past six years. In 2017 he led the Warriors to the 4A North Region title. He has also previously coached at Potomac Soccer Club, Rosa Parks Middle School, and at Watkins Mill High School.

As a player, Matt played all four seasons of his college career at Frostburg State University. He was nominated twice by his teammates for the Gilbert Gray Hardworking Yearly Award and was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Matt currently holds a USSF National ‘ C’ Coaches License and an NFHS Level 1 Coaches Certification. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education from Frostburg State University and has a Masters Degree in Exercise Science from McDaniel College and  did a summer internship with Washington Spirit doing Sports Performance work

In addition to his work as a soccer coach, he is also a Physical Education teacher at Sherwood and serves as an Assistant Coach on their Track and Field team.
