Program Overview

Bethesda SC is pleased to offer free winter training sessions with legendary head coach Philip Gyau ahead of the spring season!

Coach Gyau has a long and distinguished career both on the sidelines and on the pitch. With Bethesda he has worked with players of all ages and experience levels to develop their game. He is also currently the head coach of Howard University's Men's Soccer Team, a member of the Maryland Soccer Hall of Fame, and featured for the United States Men's National Team. Phillip is also the proud parent of two Bethesda alumni: Joe Gyau, of FC Cincinnati and the United States Men's National Team, and Mia Gyau, who currently plays for Duke University Women's Soccer Team.

Under coach Gyau's tutelage players will work on their technical and tactical skills with the aim of preparing for the spring season. All players will have the chance to further develop their dribbling, passing, and shooting in both small-sided drills and situations that mirror in-game scenarios.

"Developing players and watching them grow is my passion," said Gyau. "Giving players the opportunity to learn and grow and represent their club and their families is a passion of mine and I look forward to working with Bethesda's players this season."
