Congratulations to our Teams
The fall season has concluded and a number of our teams had successful seasons.  The Bethesda Soccer Club congratulates the following BSC teams for winning or finishing second in their respective league divisions for the fall 2007 season:

NCSL:

  • U15 D1 Runner Up - Arsenal
  • U12 D1 Champion - Fire
  • U12 D2 Champion - Revolution
  • U11 D1 Champion - Springboks

WAGS:

  • U13 D1 Champion - Freedom 94/95 

OBSL:

  • U9 Boys Division White Champion - Barca
  • U10 Girls Division Red Runner Up - Chaos 

Eclipse Advance to USASA U23 National Finals
The Bethesda Eclipse went undefeated in the USASA Region I Women U23 Cup held in Horsham, Pennsylvania over the 14 July weekend to become the regional entry in the USASA U23 Cup.  The Eclipse won its group by defeating New Jersey Shore Boca 1-0 from a goal by Erika Theisen and then shutting out F.C. Bucks 2-0 from a brace by Olivia Onyeador.  In the semifinal, Kate Nicholson scored the lone goal in a 1-1 draw against the New Jersey Wildcats but the team prevailed in the penalty shoot-out.  Nicholson was the hero in the final versus Soccer Plus as she scored the lone goal of the match.  The Eclipse will meet the ICSL All Stars of California South in the semifinals on 3 August at the Starfire Complex in Seattle, Washington.

United to Play in US CLub Soccer Nationals
In the US Club Soccer Region E Championships, Bethesda United won the U13 Boys Premier Group to earn a place in the National Cup finals.  The regional took place between 30 June-3 July at the Hampton Roads Complex in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  United won its group with two  victories and a draw.  The National Cup finals will be played 28-31 July at Springwood Park in Burlington, North Carolina.

AC Bethesda & Roadrunners Advance to Regional Semifinals
Our two boys entries, AC Bethesda (U12B) and Roadrunners (U15B), won their respective groups and have advanced to the semifinals of the Region I Championships.  We wish both teams luck.  Our girls teams came up short in their groups but we congratulate them on their great seasons.

2007 Maryland State Cup

 

 

Bethesda SC has 6 Teams Crowned State Champions
Once again, the Bethesda Soccer Club gave a strong performance in the Maryland State Cup with 6 teams winning the state title.  The U19 Girls final featured a Bethesda derby with the Eclipse defeating the Phoenix 2-0.  The Club congratulates its champions and finalists for a successful cup season.  We wish our state champions luck in the US Youth Soccer Region I National Championships that will take place between 28 June and 3 July in Portland, Maine.  The regional winners in the U14 to U19 categories advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will be held from 24-29 July at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.

Bethesda Sends 11 Teams to State Finals
There are 11 Bethesda teams that have advanced to the finals of the Maryland State Cup.  The Club had 15 semifinalists.  Two semifinals on the girl's competition involved Bethesda Soccer Club derbies: the Sharks defeating the Blast 3-2 in the U16 match and the Rapids with a 5-0 defeat of the Pride in U17 play.  And we have a U19 Girls derby in the final with the Phoenix and Eclipse.  The Club congratulates all of our semifinalists and wish luck to all of our teams playing in the cup finals.  We encourage all Bethesda SC players and families to head out to the finals and wear their blue kits in support.  The finals will be played on Saturday, 2 June at the Maryland SoccerPlex:

BSC Honored Among the Best in the USA
Soccer America announces top 20 youth soccer clubs in America
Both the Boys & Girls programs made the 2007 Soccer America rankings of the 20 best youth soccer clubs in the country.  Both programs placed 13th in the country.
