Internationals Win Stewart Cup
The U17 Boys Bethesda
Internationals won the prestigious Stewart Cup, Maryland's
amateur competition run by the Maryland State Soccer Association. The
Stewart Cup first started in 1932 and was the state competition that
produced the Maryland representative for the U.S. Amateur Cup. Although a
separate tournament is held today for the Amateur Cup, this knockout
competition is still popular as a number of amateur teams from around the
state compete for the Stewart Cup. A few youth teams have entered the
tournament over the years and the Internationals are the first youth side to
lift the trophy. |
