The Olney-Bethesda Soccer League is a
developmental and transitional League for U8 through U12 Players. Many
players and teams find the progression from recreational programs to NCSL
and WAGS a significant challenge. The Olney/Bethesda Soccer League offers
players and teams the opportunity to play at a competitive level prior to
joining these leagues. OBSL serves as a developmental league for U8 through
U12 players. Teams are expected to stress player skill development. The league is jointly operated by Olney Soccer and Bethesda Soccer Club. The U8 program is a 4v4 structure where two games are played simultaneously side-by-side. Players can be moved from one game to another and substitutions are on the fly. Results and standings are not kept for this age group. Only two (2) underage players are allowed on each team and the teams may be a mix of boys and girls. The fall 2010 season will begin on 11 September and end on 6 November. No games will be played on Columbus Day Weekend (9 October). Games will be scheduled primarily on Saturdays (Sundays for rainouts). The league fee for the fall 2010 season is $140. Teams are registered as recreational teams and need to be registered with MSYSA through their club. The MSYSA registration fees are paid through the respective club. Deadline to register is 14 August. Click the link below for the application form.
