Bethesda Board President
|
Bethesda Soccer
Club members,
I am
excited about the opportunity to work with the board members,
coaches, managers and our club members throughout my term. My
focus will be on the areas of fundraising, field development,
sponsorships, coaching education, player safety and establishing a
calendar of club events. My priority, as your President, will
be to energize the membership to get involved in the numerous
committees that will be established.
The first step forward took place at our most recent
board meeting. Eleven people participated in the discussion of
how to make our programs more affordable to our membership.
Fundraising and sponsorships are two primary areas of focus. We
look forward to establishing a Fundraising Committee to be chaired by
Carolyn Ferrari. Carolyn will need your time to assist her with
generating fundraising events, planning the events and working on the
event days. At the end of the day, the work of the many
volunteers will help reduce the cost of membership in Bethesda Soccer
Club.
Martin Johnson will be attending to possible corporate
partners. His initial focus will be on understanding the
benefits of being a partner with our club.
By my count, BSC has the strongest youth development
program in the area. We have 24 teams with over 240 players participating.
Every season our program is growing in the number of teams and
players.
For our older teams, the club continues to learn more
about the US Soccer Development Academy and Red Bull league
participation.
This newsletter is the first initiative to provide
information about our great club to the membership. It
will be a valuable communication tool. Your ideas about the
content to be included in future editions will provide a better
understanding of the information you want to know.
Please visit our website as it evolves into an information service
for our members. The contact information for the board members
is on the website and you are welcome to contact any member of the
board at anytime with comments, questions or suggestions.
Please introduce yourself to me on the sidelines as I
visit games during the fall season.

Bethesda Tournament News
|
|
The Bethesda
Soccer Tournament will be here shortly.
Girls Weekend
November 15-16
Boys Weekend
November 22-23
The Tournament
is now a Gold tournament and we should be proud of our ranking
as such.
This year's
tournament is dedicated to
Mr. Joseph
Muldoon in memory of his years of dedication and tireless
work in ensuring the tournament and the club had and continue to
have a place to call home.
We would also
like to thank in advance all the tournament volunteers who give up
their weekends so the tournament can run smoothly.

Youth Development Program
|
|
Since its inception four short years ago, the Bethesda
Youth Development Program has emerged as the area's preeminent
soccer program. Directed by Jonathon Colton (Boys) and Ellis Pierre
(girls) the program has grown tremendously in
size, provided the developmental foundation for state
and regional championship teams, and placed dozens of
players in the state, regional, and national olympic development
pool.
If you have any
question about the Youth Development Program, please check out our
page on the BSC website and feel free to contact Jonathon Colton and
Ellis Pierre.
