In Memory of Kelly and Sloane Murray Bethesda Soccer Club and the entire community suffered a tremendous loss on June 26th when Kelly Murray and her daughter, Sloane, died in a tragic accident.  Our hearts go out to Kelly's husband, Sean, his five daughters, and their entire family. Kelly was truly a remarkable woman.  She was dynamic and compassionate and seamlessly balanced her busy family life with a highly successful career as a professor, psychologist, and advocate for young women. Soccer is a big part of the Murrays' life.  Their oldest daughter, Jillian, plays for our U-13 FSV team.  Another sister, Maeve, just joined the U-8 program. And Sloane, herself, was eagerly anticipating her first season on a U-9 team. 2009 Maryland State Champions

The U-13 boys Bethesda Fire and girls Bethesda Freedom were crowned Maryland State Cup Champions on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at the Maryland Soccerplex.   Both U-13 Bethesda teams earned a spot in the 2009 Region 1 Championships in Huntington, West Virginia in July.  The teams faced fierce competition.  The Fire won their final State cup match with a score of 2 to 1 against the Olney Rangers while the Freedom battled against the Greater Severna Park Kickers and ended their final State cup match with a 2-1 victory.  These two teams are the first "graduates" of Bethesda's Elite Youth Development Program and Bethesda congratulates the players and coaches that have dedicated their time and talent to the game.

The Bethesda Soccer Club also wants to congratulate the finalists and semi-finalists, including the Olney Rangers, Westminster Wolves Wolfpack, and Baltimore Bays Casa Mia for the Boys and SAC United Premier, Baltimore Bays, and Olney Cyclones White for the Girls.

May 31st is officially Bethesda Night at the Washington Freedom Game, Kick-Off is 4:00PM at the Germantown Soccerplex!!

Tickets for this game are being offered at a significantly discounted rate to the Bethesda Soccer Club.
